A Review of the Babylock Embroidery Machine

!: A Review of the Babylock Embroidery Machine

There is a Babylock embroidery machine model named Decorators Choice, Model No. BLDC2 and I would like to describe this machine for you.

The BLDC2 has 178 built in stitches, including 67 utility stitches and 10 one-step buttonhole styles. You will also get twin needle sewing.

There are 40 decorative stitches, 5 cross, 16 satin, 11 decorative satin stitches and 39 utility stitches that can be combined. There are also 3 built-in upper case alphabets for all your monogramming projects.

Accessories included are 13 snap-on-feet, that number should cover just about any type of sewing you might want to do. Plus many more features.

There are quite a number of convenient features such as quick-set top loading bobbin and quick set bobbin winder. Plus automatic needle threader, start/stop button, hands-free presser foot lift, programmable needle up/down, built-in programmable reinforcement stitch, automatic thread cutter, drop feed, free arm, easy to read stitch chart, built-in accessory storage, push button feature Phew - to name but a few!

The quick set top-loading bobbin is a really good innovation because you simply drop the bobbin into its spot in the machine, pull the threads through and the machine will do the rest.

The name of this machine should tell you that it was designed specifically with decorators in mind.

If you are one of those gifted amateurs, running their own little cottage industry making sewn and embroidered items for sale then I think you would really like this machine.

If for instance you were making bags, this machine will sew some quite thick material with little or no hassle. As long as you use the correct steps you shouldn't have any problems at all.

If you get to the point that you are thinking of upgrading your machine, you should always think very carefully before you do. Look at all the specifications and decide whether any new functions are sufficiently different to warrant probably spending quite a lot more money for this upgrade.

Apart from extra functions and maybe extra accessories you need to try one to see if it feels right for you. A new machine is like anything else - it has to feel right or you won't enjoy using it

You will get a 25 year limited warranty with this machine.

Should You Download Free Embroidery Designs?

!: Should You Download Free Embroidery Designs?

The answer is yes and no. If you are going to download some freebies there are a few things you should be aware of. Are the designs the digitizers own work? or are they giving away someone else's work? Do they have the right to give them away? I have seen one website where the entire site was freebies and it appeared that the purpose of the free stuff was to get people to the page to see the weight loss product on the page. I am not sure where this person got all of the so called free design but I would be suspicious about that.

As a digitizer and owner of a website there are two reasons why I give away designs the first is that people will be able to try my designs and see that they are good quality and the second is that I then can contact them with offers in the future (only if they opt in for the news letter). Most digitizers won't give away their best stuff. But they should be of good quality.

IF you are about to download a freebie, you should check a few things first. Do you want to sell the item you stitch out? If so you will need to make sure that the digitizer has used an image that is either royalty free or they have drawn themselves. If you are going to sell an embroidered item that has used an image that is copyrighted you may find yourself in legal trouble.

So always check the terms and conditions on the website before you download, otherwise that so called free design may end up costing more than you bargained for.

You will also need to check the terms and conditions to find out what you are permitted to do with the design, I would suggest that you will never be permitted to sell or give away the design file. I am aware that people do but let's face it people are in business to make a living and if their work is being given away what hope do they have.

On that point we all love a freebie but it is wise to consider that to run and maintain a website does cost money, embroidery designs are usually not very expensive, so if you like the digitizers work and you like the website be prepared to spend a couple of bucks from time to time or the website may just disappear.

Embroidery Machine Prices

!: Embroidery Machine Prices

There exists a dilemma for consumers when purchasing embroidery machines. This is because the markets have many competitive products proffering similar functions and, therefore, boast cutthroat prices. This makes it tricky for new users to make the right choice. Advertisements and recommendations almost always offer a brief and positive idea about each product. For this reason, a number of users, critics, and experts provide reviews that allow consumers to understand a product better.

Embroidery machines are available for both domestic and commercial use. For this reason, potential buyers need to carry out intensive research about the prices and analyze the available options. Embroidery machine prices tend to vary as they highly depend on the brand and their size. A Singer Quantum embroidery machine would cost about 00. These machines are fully automatic, state-of-the-art sewing and embroidery machines, completely upgradeable to keep up with the users' level of creativity. Computerized embroidery machines usually cost around 3. Singer Futura embroidery machines cost about 9. Bernina Deco embroidery machines are priced at 9 and are extremely lightweight.

In order to avoid incorrect purchases and understand technical aspects, consumers must compare features of different machines. Comparisons provide insight and help people understand and analyze products. They also aid in comparing prices, which are listed in various related magazines and on the Internet as well. Individuals can also research about the prices from different retail stores in and around town. This simple investigation can provide first hand knowledge about the various discounts on prices and free accessories with the purchase.

Many brands have their own websites that provide information related to embroidery machine prices, their features, pictorial descriptions, their availability, and the latest upgrades. These websites are supplemented with short descriptions of the products, to provide basic, relevant information and their configurations to advertise their technological superiority.
Sites also offer discounted prices, the conditions applied to avail the discounts and the company policies.
